Current world conditions and the message of the Battle of Khandaq invasion

Islam is an eternal and universal religion, it has presented the right solution to all the problems that will arise until the Day of Judgment. Whatever the circumstances, the code of life of Islam and the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) contain complete guidance for those who believe and seek it.

This is the honor of this religion and a clear proof of the finality of the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Be it rich or poor, man or woman, child or old, happiness or sorrow, whatever part of life, the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) will definitely contain those impressions, by adopting which a person can live a successful and enviable life, which is why the Holy Quran has declared the blessed and noble life of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as the best example and model for all Muslims in all issues and problems. It is said: ﴿لَقَدْ کَانَ لَکُمْ فِيْ رَسُوْلِ اللہِ اُسْوَةٌ حَسْنَةٌ ﴾ (الأحزاب: ۲۱)

Translation: “Indeed, there is no best example for you in the Messenger of Allah.”

But this is for those who have complete faith and trust in Allah. If there is no love for Allah and His Messenger, and no right seeking and seeking, then even thousands of books like the Quran cannot guide a person to the path of truth. The secret of the rise, progress and astonishing success of the Muslims of the first century is their faith, certainty and complete adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. His rule extended to the East, West, North and South. Muslims were the rulers and non-Muslims were the subjects and slaves.

Today, non-Muslim powers all over the world are making systematic efforts to extinguish the bright lamp of Islam. Jews, Christians and all groups of disbelievers have united for the purpose that there should be no Muslims left in the world and no mention of Muslims. This is exactly the situation that occurred with the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Medina 1439 years ago.

In addition to the Quraysh and the polytheists of Mecca, Banu Qurayza, Banu Nadir, Banu Ghatafan, Banu Murrah, Banu Kinana, Banu Asad, Banu Sulaym, Banu Saad, the tribe of Aslam, Ashja, Fazara, the people of Tihama and some other tribes of Arabia had unitedly made a united effort in Shawwal 5 AH to extinguish the candle of Muhammad’s prophethood, to destroy and annihilate the rising power of Islam, to eliminate the followers of monotheism from the world and to eliminate the talk of prophethood. All the non-Muslims of that time made systematic conspiracies together and used various tactics for this purpose.  But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions, through their wisdom, foresight, strength of faith, tireless work and struggle, proved that this lamp would not go out.

Background and main events of the Battle

Everyone familiar with the history of Islam knows that in the Battle of the Parties, various groups of infidels united and attacked Medina, having agreed to annihilate the Muslims. The Holy Quran has outlined the conspiracy of these united forces as follows:إِذْ جَاؤُوکُم مِّن فَوْقِکُمْ وَمِنْ أسْفَلَ مِنکُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتْ الْأَبْصَارُ وَبَلَغَتِ الْقُلُوبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِاللہِ الظُّنُونَا﴾(الأحزاب:۱

Translation: “When the enemy attacked you from above and below, when your eyes became blinded by fear, your hearts became numb, and you began to think various things about Allah.”

The reason for this invasion has been explained by the biographers as follows: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) exiled the Banu Nadir out of malice, and these people left Medina and settled in Khaybar, they started a very grand conspiracy. Among their leaders, Huy bin Akhtab, Salam bin Abi al-Haqiq, Kinana bin Rabi’, etc., went to Mecca in 5 AH and incited the Quraysh to fight to exterminate the Muslims.

After the two reached an agreement, the aforementioned members of Banu Nadir approached a large and warlike tribe of Arabia, Banu Ghatafan, and persuaded them to join him by promising them half of the produce of the oasis of Khaybar.  All the tribes of Ghatfan also joined in, thus Abu Sufyan set out for Medina in Shawwal 5 AH with a large army of about ten thousand men and abundant resources. When the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to know about the movement of the enemies, he consulted his companions as usual.

Hazrat Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “It is the custom of the people of Persia to dig a trench on such occasions to protect ourselves from the enemy and force him to retreat.” The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) accepted this advice and ordered the trench to be dug. Medina had a series of houses and an oasis on three sides, which served as a city defense.  Only the Syrian side was open, on this side he himself established the boundaries, by drawing stakes, ten yards of land was divided among ten men, the total length of the trench was about three and a half miles, the width was such that a fast horse could not cross it and the depth was, according to one estimate, five yards. At that time, the total number of the Muslim army was three thousand and there were thirty-six horses in total, the matter was very serious. The ground was rocky, the weather was cold, food and drink were not available, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) showed great patience and perseverance. These poems were flowing on their tongues.

نَحْنُ الَّذِیْنَ بَایَعُوْا مُحَمَّدَا

عَلَی الْجِھَادِ مَابَقِیْنَا أبَدَا

Translation: “We are those who have pledged allegiance to jihad at the hands of Muhammad (peace be upon him) for the rest of our lives.”

وَاللہِ لَوْلَا اللہُ مَا اھْتَدَیْنَا

وَلَا تَصَدَّقْنَا وَلَا صَلَّیْنَا

By God!  If God’s guidance had not guided us, we would not have been guided, nor would we have received charity and prayer.”

Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiqas, Hazrat Farooq Sa’d and other great companions were equal partners in digging the trench. They would pick up dirt in their laps and throw it out, which covered their bodies with dust. Despite the unwillingness of the companions, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took an equal share in this most difficult work and hardship for their comfort and for the education of the Ummah. Due to hunger, two stones were tied to his blessed stomach. By chance, a large rock of stone came out in the share of Hazrat Salman Farsi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which was not something that ordinary people could break. When he came to know about it, he took a hoe in his blessed hand and struck it three times in succession.

The third time, the rock crumbled to pieces. He said that the light that came out from hitting the rock with the hoe showed the palaces of the cities of Yemen and Kisra, and Hazrat Gabriel gave the good news of the conquest of these cities. In this way, some the trench was ready within a day. The Muslims had finished digging the trench when Abu Sufyan reached near Uhud with ten thousand troops. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also went to fight with three thousand Muslims near Mount Sala and stayed there. He kept all the children and women safe in a fort in Medina. The trench was a barrier between the Muslims. When Abu Sufyan learned about the trench, he spoke involuntarily.

By Allah! This is a great plan that the Arabs did not know.”

A few days later, Huy bin Akhtab, the chief of Banu Nadir, enlisted Banu Qurayzah in his ranks through his cunning; while they had already made a treaty with the Muslims, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to know of their breach of the covenant, he sent Sa’d bin Mu’adh and Sa’d bin Ubadah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) as a delegation to verify the incident and emphasized that if the incident of breach of the covenant was proven false, then they should openly state it in front of all the companions and if it was proven true, then they should come and talk openly. When, after investigation and discussion, the breach of the covenant was confirmed, the delegation informed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in ambiguous words, at that time, only this word came out of his mouth:

حَسْبُنَا اللہُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَکِیْلُ“․

However, the situation was very difficult, there were heavy armies of infidels and other tribes in front and the fear of Banu Qurayza in the rear, the activities of the hypocrites intensified on this and they started various psychological attacks to demoralize the believers, thus the situation had become terrible. It was a time of severe trial, almost a month passed, there was no open decisive battle and no time of thoughtlessness, the companions were guarding the trench day and night hungry and thirsty, although the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) personally participated in this hard work and hardship, but he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was keenly aware of the anxiety and restlessness of the companions; therefore, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) decided one day to give Banu Ghatfan one-third of the fruits of Medina and send them back from the battlefield.

As a suggestion, he mentioned this to two elders of the Aws and Khazraj tribes, Saad bin Muadh and Saad bin Ubadah, and they both said, “O Messenger of Allah!  If this is a divine command, then it is acceptable, otherwise we have no need to reconcile with them. We will not give them anything except the sword. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) abandoned his intention after seeing their determination and zeal for faith; because this was not a command from Allah, but a war strategy of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

One day, the infidels attacked the Muslims with such force that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had to complete their four prayers. On that day, some famous brave men of Arabia crossed the trench and came towards the Muslims, including Amr bin Abdwood and Nawfal bin Abdullah. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went out to fight and killed Amr bin Abdwood. Nawfal fell into the trench while running and was also killed by Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). The infidels demanded Nawfal’s body for money; but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave it to him for free. A Jew, looking for an opportunity, reached the fort where the Mastoorat was.

He saw Hazrat Safiya (may Allah be pleased with her), so he hit her on the head with a piece of wood from the tent so hard that she died on the spot.  As the siege continued, the courage of the enemy forces was decreasing. In the meantime, as a sign of unseen help, a man from the Ghatafan tribe, Naeem bin Masood, accepted Islam. Then, with the advice of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he devised a plan that caused a split between the Quraysh and Banu Qurayzah, and Banu Qurayzah withdrew their support from the Quraysh. In this way, the strength of the infidel forces was weakened. The second calamity was that Allah Almighty sent a strong and cold wind upon them, which uprooted their tents, overturned pots from their stoves, and filled their eyes with dust, which terrified the entire army of the infidels. The Holy Quran has mentioned this unseen help in the following way:

﴿إِذْ جَاء تْکُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْھِمْ رِیْحاً وَجُنُوداً لَّمْ تَرَوْھَا وَکَانَ اللہُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِیْراً ﴾ (الاحزاب:۹)

Translation: “When the armies came upon you, we sent upon them a severe storm and sent forces that you could not see, and Allah was seeing everything that you were doing at that time.”

Hazrat Hudhayfah Sajan was sent by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to find out the army of the disbelievers. He states that after the storm and the storm, Abu Sufyan said to his companions, “This is no longer a place to stay, our animals have perished, it has become difficult to walk, stand, and sit down. Banu Qurayzah has also left us; so now return home!” Saying this, Abu Sufyan mounted his camel and left. All the other armies also returned. Thus, the Muslims achieved victory after a long struggle. When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was informed about the departure of the disbelievers, he said:

“Now they will attack them, but they will not attack us, we will go to attack them.”

“Now we will attack them, they will not be able to attack us, we will go to attack them.”

So later it happened, that is, the disbelief did not have enough strength to attack the Muslims. After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned to Medina with his companions praising and praising them.

The Message of the Battle of the Trench

The noteworthy aspect here is what light this battle gives to Islamic countries and Muslims in the current situation, how should the believers today confront the forces opposing Islam? What lessons do we learn from the wise steps of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the sincerity and uprightness of the Companions, and how? These points are mentioned below in order.

Knowledge of the movements of the enemies

When an army of ten or twelve thousand under the supervision of Abu Sufyan set out towards Medina, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) immediately learned about it. This shows that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was not sitting in Medina unaware; rather, his informers and sympathizers and victims of the Islamic movement, who were present in all the tribes, kept him informed about the movements of the enemies, which made it easier to protect the Islamic state established in Medina.

Even today, Muslims should be aware of the movements of the enemies and the secret conspiracies of the organizations hostile to Islam. Being aware of the situation paves the way for defense and its management, and the terrible consequences of timely anxiety and worry do not come to light. Sometimes, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would also send spies to inform about the facts and situations, as was the case with Hazrat Hudhayfah during the Battle of the Trench.

The method of war and Islam

In these circumstances, responding to their objections through writing and speech, clearing their minds and pointing out the weaknesses found in non-Islamic religions will prove to be the best method of defense. Similarly, if a voice is raised against Islam through electronic media, then it is the responsibility of Muslim leaders and intelligent individuals to respond to it through Islamic TV channels, the Internet and other electronic means as far as possible.

Speech and writing, journalism and preaching, teaching and teaching, protests and sit-ins, and so on are all included in the scope of war, by which the enemies can be thwarted in their objectives. No one has a monopoly on the method of war and confrontation. The best tactics to destroy the forces hostile to Islam and those that suit the delicacy of the occasion must be adopted. It is proven from traditions that in the Battle of Taif, we used catapults, which is a method of war invented by the infidels, and this further strengthens it.

Perseverance and Patience

The companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) showed great patience and perseverance in the Battle of the Trench. They fought for a month without stopping, despite hunger and thirst, lack of equipment and resources, and unfavorable weather. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was ordered to dig a trench, he carried a stone on his stomach and dug it as if an army of jinn were to overturn the earth. In just six days, such a huge trench was ready.

Sometimes, in a spirit of faith, they would sing hymns and sometimes pray to Allah for the success of their mission. The situation went from bad to worse; but not a single companion withdrew his step. This teaches today’s Muslim volunteers that no matter what the situation is, one should not withdraw from the battlefront. Patience and perseverance are the keys to success; one cannot hope to achieve one’s goal by dying.

Participation of dignitaries in the work

Not only Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat Umar; but the Emperor of the Universe himself, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was involved in digging the trench. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was also a member of a group of ten men. Like the other companions, he used to throw out the soil, which made his blessed body dusty. When the digging work started, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached the spot and remained there till the end.

It can be concluded from this that the participation of the leaders of the group and dignitaries in the work gives the workers encouragement, strength and freshness in the work, which is why the Muslim soldiers worked hard in digging the trench, sweating and suffering from constant hunger. When some companions mentioned about putting stones on their stomachs due to hunger and hunger, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lifted his garment and showed it.

Here, it was time to put two stones on it.  This gave them relief and the feeling of hunger disappeared. This reality of sacrifice and self-sacrifice remains only when the entire community participates in it; but if some people want to put the responsibility of sacrifice and self-sacrifice on others by putting themselves above them, then this quality disappears from the entire community. In the current global situation, religious, political and social leaders should keep a special eye on this; so that the matter gains weight and ordinary people do not feel lonely.

Strategies to weaken the enemies

The path taken by the great commander of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to reconcile with the Banu Ghatfan over one-third of the produce of Medina is instructive in that if the Islamic movement ever has to retreat or take a step back in order to protect it from severe opposition and reduce the strength of the shaman, it is not impossible or forbidden.

Among the best qualities of military leadership is that in times of conflict, a rift should be created in the unity of the enemy by any means. Obviously, when some of the people participating in a mission retreat and abandon cooperation and support, the collective strength will be affected and the courage of the rest will be broken.

This is the wisdom that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has given a stern warning about the Mujahid who chooses the path of escape during the war; so that seeing this does not cause any wavering in the stability of the other soldiers. In the current situation, there is a need to act specifically on this practice of the invasion of the parties.  As far as possible, efforts should be made to prevent non-Muslim organizations from uniting. Whenever there is a sense of mental harmony in attacking Islam, Muslim leaders, writers, and like-minded people should create something that will cause the opponents to fall prey to civil war, create division and chaos among themselves. If this does not end the war and opposition, then at least the power of the enemies will be significantly reduced.

War tactics in the eyes of Islam

When the chief of Banu Nadir, Huy bin Akhtab, sent grain from Khaybar to help Abu Sufyan, the Prophet (peace be upon him) stopped it, which gave the Muslims enough strength and weakened the enemies. This was also a war strategy; because it is difficult to remain steadfast on the battlefield when hungry and thirsty. If this and other such strategies are adopted in the current world conditions, it is possible that the enemies of Islam will be mentally humiliated and their strength and power will weaken.

Courage to move forward

When Abu Sufyan saw the deep trench dug, he said in surprise, “By God! This is a strategy that the Arabs did not yet know how to plan.” It is as if the Muslims of that time were so advanced in strategy and method of action that their opponents used to cry out when they saw their strategies. We were not yet aware of such strategies. It was this courage to move forward that made them shine, grow and become the Imam of their time.  Today, laziness, negligence, and carelessness have cast such a thick blanket over our morale that we have become slaves to others and we have become content with it.

Discipline in War Work

So, discipline is needed at every stage of life; but its importance increases in war work, without planning and discipline, neither the work is speedy nor the result is happy. This is why the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had trained in war discipline from the very first battle, the work of digging in the trench was done with utmost discipline. Then, to monitor it and control the front, posts were established at various places and guard shifts were appointed. In addition, secret codes were set up for mutual identification among the Muslim soldiers. The delegation reported the treachery of Banu Qurayza by saying “Azul Waqara” in a signal; So that ordinary Muslims do not suffer from anxiety, it also shows that if Muslim leaders and religious leaders know something about the enemies that demoralizes the people, they should not disclose it. Today, there is a great lack of order and discipline among Muslims. No matter what method of protest, sit-in or demonstration, Muslims do not have the collective strength in it. The passion for identifying one’s own institution is more important than serving religion. As a result, our demonstrations and processions do not achieve any special benefit.

The Importance of Consultation in Islam

When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) came to know about the movement of the enemies, he consulted his companions as to what to do in these situations. This shows the importance of the Shura system, Allah Almighty had emphasized consultation to him; therefore, on this occasion, he used to consult his companions. He did not take a major step of self-determination on the battlefield. This shows that Muslim leaders and responsible persons should not do anything based on their own opinion, in this unity with collective strength paves the way for harmony.

Avoiding sectarian matters

Hazrat Salman Farsi, since he used to work ten times more than others and he was neither among the Ansar nor among the Muhajirin, an atmosphere of competition arose between the Ansar and the Muhajirin regarding him, each of the Ansar and the Muhajirin wanted to include him in his group.

The decision of this conflict was made by the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said, “Salman is from among our Ahl al-Bayt,” meaning, “Salman is among the groups of our Ahl al-Bayt.” It is as if the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed that during a war, one should not get involved in such sectarian matters and create a rift in the collective strength.

Today, Muslims are divided into different groups. Muslims have lost their collective strength by getting involved in family, sectarian, regional, linguistic, institutional and other such matters. All the organizations that are enemies of Islam are united in eradicating Islam; but the idea of unity in the Muslim Ummah seems impossible. Obviously, the strength that is found in unity cannot be found in the various groups and groups. Every institution and organization should become a friend to the other and not a party, especially in the current circumstances. It is sorely needed.

Belief and Trust in Allah

When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was informed of the treachery of Banu Qurayzah, he (PBUH) said: Hasbuna Allah wa Naam al-Wakeel: Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs. In this sentence, he (PBUH) taught the Ummah that all calamities and problems come from Allah, so one should have faith and trust in Allah in victory and defeat. Trust in atomic bombs, missiles, ammunition and swords and guns is an ignorant religion. All these things need Allah to achieve their effect; but Allah Almighty does not need anyone, He can overcome a large crowd despite the lack of resources, as there is a clear example in the Battle of Badr.

Preparation for War and Islam

When Abu Sufyan and the other tribes returned from the battlefield, he (PBUH) said: “Now we will attack them and they will not be able to attack us.”  This shows that proactive jihad is correct in Islam. That is, if the circumstances become hostile to Islam and it becomes difficult for Muslims to live, then war can be initiated if necessary to protect their lives, property, and religion. This is why the Holy Quran has commanded Muslims to always be ready for war.  Allah Almighty says:

And prepare for them whatever you can of strength and of steeds, with which you will strike terror into the enemies of Allah and your enemies. (Al-Anfal: 60)

“And prepare for them whatever you can of strength and of steeds, with which you will strike terror into the enemies of Allah and your enemies.”

In the current world situation, Muslims need to be prepared to respond to the attacks of the enemies of Islam, both physically and materially. Who knows when they will attack the lives, honor and dignity of non-Muslim?

Role of Women in War

Although all the women and children were kept in the forts for peace of mind; however, women proved their high character even while living there. A Jew was seen roaming around a camp of women. Hazrat Safiya (RA) (the aunt of the Prophet) killed him with a stick. After which no enemy dared to come near, a woman Rafidah reached the front with some medicines and bandages and she served the wounded, Hazrat Saad bin Muadh’s mother said to her son: Go, son, you have delayed. (Muhsin-e-Insaniyat, page: 484) Apart from the Battle of the Trench, women played an important role in the Battle of Uhud and other wars. This leads to the conclusion that women should also participate in war measures along with men as much as necessary and they should also be ready for it at all times.

Good conduct with non-Muslims

No matter what the circumstances, one should maintain good conduct with non-Muslims. It has a better effect on the hearts of the intelligent and understanding. When Hazrat Ali (a.s.) killed Nawfal bin Abdullah in the Battle of the Trench, the polytheists presented ten thousand dirhams to the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) to hand over his body to us.

He (s.a.w.s.) said: Take the body for free, I do not need this money. Surely, this would have had a good effect on the hearts of the enemies. This was the strategy of the Prophet (s.a.w.s.), at the very time when the Companions were in dire need of money, and the enemy groups were determined to overthrow the foundation of Islam; but he continued his conduct and kindness even in these terrible and dangerous situations.

Once the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) was sitting with the Companions, when the funeral of a Jew passed by. The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) stood up after seeing it.  The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! This is the funeral of a Jewish non-Muslim, why should we respect him? He said: Indeed, there is a soul in it, after all, he is also a human being. (Mishkat: 147) There are hundreds of such examples that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) maintained tolerance with non-Muslims and never severed ties. From this, it is concluded that Muslims should always behave well with non-Muslims.

It is possible that they will be influenced by the good manners of Muslims and come closer to Islam, and their hearts will be cleansed of doubts and suspicions; because many misunderstandings are automatically cleared by mutual meetings. The good manners of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have a great contribution to the spread of Islam. If he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had not behaved tolerantly with non-Muslims, a wall of hatred would have stood in the way and they would not have had the opportunity to understand the teachings of Islam.  The famous contemporary researcher Dr. Muhammad Hamidullah Hyderabadi has discussed this topic in his Khutbat-e-Bhawalpur, pages 279 to 281. In the current circumstances of India, there is a need to study it and pay special attention to this aspect of the Prophet’s biography.

The Prophet’s Seerah is the cure for all diseases

These are some of the impressions and messages from the Battle of the Trench, in the light of which the problems and difficulties of the current global situation can be solved. We should believe that no matter what the situation is. Following the Seerah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the cure for all diseases and the source of peace and tranquility. In today’s current situation, there is only one door to get rid of the troubles that the Islamic world is facing, and that is the Seerah of the Prophet. If faith is strengthened and we become true slaves of the Prophet hood of Muhammad, then all things in the universe can bow down to our greatness.
